It's suspicious, the Chosen turning up with someone like you. The others-- childhood friends, a teacher, fine in lieu of the priests. You're a middle-aged weaver. Either you came for your sword skills, in which case you'll get extra scrutiny for being that skilled despite your position in the village, or you came for your son, and there's a significant resemblance.

Remember it's still Remiel serving as the oracle. He hates you with dedication.

If you join them after a seal or two, it's easy to pass you off as a mercenary. That's common enough.
