[The 'breathe' is about the only warning Kratos has; just enough of a warning, before he feels Yuan's mana shift. It's just enough that when that spark hits, switching off his voice is practically something he trips over on the way down the path of pain.
[He does not breathe. The phantom sensation of the Sword thrust through him takes all that breath away. He has enough wherewithal to snatch his hand away from Lloyd's; but it flies up to Yuan's shoulder instead, gripping hard enough to hurt, while the other grips the carpet, and his body jerks away.
[It's barely a second, and then that spark is gone. Kratos slumps into Yuan's embrace, his limbs tingling with adrenaline and the sense that that tiny spark spread all through him in the worst way possible. It takes him a moment to remember to breathe, and when he does it's with a gasp, and sudden tears.
