[The familiarity of the argument, more a discussion really, is very nearly painful. Kratos would have smiled for it, if it weren't for everything else; the feeling of standing on a precipice, uncontrolled. He'd taken so long to action that this feels like rushing. So he doesn't smile, and nods to Raine.]
I think that's all the important aspects, yes. If there's anything more, we can figure it out on the way. We need to figure out our next course of action.
[And it's an important one. They can't exactly split their forces.]
What do you mean? We need to take care of the ranch! I thought we already decided that.
[Lloyd's tone is more surprised than angry, but there's an edge of challenge there, and Kratos shakes his head.]
The seal of water is back down south; the Asgard ranch is further north. If we take care of the ranch first, it will ensure that Asgard will remain free from retribution, but we'll then have to go south and come the whole way north again. That will take a great deal of time. If we get Undine first, we can stop by Lake Ulmacy on the way to the ranch, and Yuan can protect Asgard from the Desians. That would take weeks off our trip.
[Just a stern word should be enough. It's on Yuan's word that Asgard has remained relatively safe thus far, so it shouldn't compromise his position. Colette raises her hand a little.]
Um ... you want to stop to save the unicorn? Not that I mind, of course. It looked very lonely at the bottom of the lake. But you don't seem to do anything without a reason, Kratos. And the unicorn didn't come up at all in our discussion just now.
[... Ah. That was one thing he hadn't mentioned -- the toxicosis. And the only way the unicorn can heal Colette of it is if she's already wearing the key-crest; Kratos is getting ahead of himself, already planning to talk her into it before the final seal.]
