conductingresistance: (softly call you over)

[Yuan wants to snap at him to stop turning his head; wants to yell at him for staking his damn life on this in the first place. But they all thought it would work, they all had such faith in each other back then.]

[Maybe it was just Martel.]

[So Yuan considers it. Really thinks about it, what Kratos is and isn't saying. That to set things right they'll need to unify the worlds -- some part of him knew that -- and that Yuan is going to be left terribly alone when everything is said and done.]

Would it?

[Yuan gathers the braid in progress into one hand, marking his place, and slides the other down to wrap around Kratos' throat, pulling him back against the rim of the tub. Angelic strength would make it very easy, and Kratos is so very fragile comparatively. Kratos could be dying in seconds, the mana ebbing from his body and the seal of the pact going with it. If his blood's going to be on Yuan's hands anyway, why bother to make it tidy?]

[But he doesn't know about the Summoner, if she will do, and there would still need to be access to the sword, and if the pact breaks now then Mithos will surely notice, and there are a myriad of other concerns, at least half of which are simple excuses to stave off being the only one left.]

[When his voice comes out it's harsh.]

No. Not-- now.

[Yuan lets go very abruptly and goes back to braiding. There it is, then: he can't do it. At least, not like this.]
