[That gets a hesitation in response, but it's not the uncertain kind; just the debating kind.]

Experience, mostly, for both. The name 'Aurion' seemed an insurmountable gap for my peers while I was a knight in training. They didn't mellow too much afterward.

In many ways, I found the castle staff much easier to talk to. Aurion or not, I was just one more superior officer to them; but I bothered to treat them as individuals. It made things easier. As for the other --

... I know it works because I was on the other end of it. For a long time I never thought much about half-elves. Someone changed my mind.
