Hm, well ...

[With some dry amusement back. It's true that Kratos does -- still fear O Branain, even if less now than when all Kratos had had were the nightmares of the past.]

It is. I feel -- protected.

[It isn't as much as if half-elves were considered equal to humans, but still; Yuan has leveraged whatever influence he has in Kratos's favour. That's the difference. As an Aurion he'd been expected to take care of himself -- yes, even his family had expected it, once he came to be of an age. There had been expectations in the care, societal ones.

[Yuan seems to have none. The view of slaves is that he must, simply, serve; but in Tethe'alla, he would have to earn his defenders. There's a difference, if a faint one. It's enough.]

The only thing that concerns me unduly is -- putting you in a compromising position. ... Some more.

[Because Yuan is already in one, feeling affection for his slave. He chose Kratos's life over his duty as a commander. Kratos has not forgotten.]
