[Kratos hesitates, frowning a little.]

[It's complicated. Angels don't need to become feathered, and a great many of the angels in Derris-Kharlan had not meant to do so; but it's also true that the fact so many of them did is not an accident. Most of them had not understood what it meant, to become a seraphim. They'd been labouring under false impressions as their mana settled. Mithos would not have borne new angels rising to seraphim status, and risked upsetting his machinations.

[Perhaps luckily, Kratos doesn't have to figure out how to explain. One of the comms officers on the bridge sends him a tight-range message, an alert for a communications. Kratos sends one back directing her to send it to the console, and holds up his hand in a 'stop' motion.]

[He turns toward the console to activate the screen.]
